University--Aberystwyth, happy and reasonably successful all-rounder, university colours (football) and 3-part B. Sc. Hons. (Not a 1st).
Family--wife Annette, ex teacher, best choice I ever made, son, Architect, and daughter, Gardener.
Career--post grad. Diploma in Vocational Guidance (London), careers adviser in Bristol, eventually Chief Executive of Warwickshire Careers Service. Awarded OBE for Services to Employers and Young People.
Retirement--Pressure off but still busy; Vice Chairman Alcester & Ragley CC, Chairman U3A, Treasurer Shottery Hall, Exec. Committee Cotswold Hills Cricket League.
As President with help of the Committee:
- Rescued OT’S Shield and Cups from Tewkesbury Museum cellar and had them installed in purpose-built cabinet at Tewkesbury School for awards to subject and sports winners.
- Restored and renovated OT’s Memorial bench in Abbey grounds.
- Increased (marginally) numbers attending Annual Dinner.
